Susie Mott to sing National Anthem for Rangers

2010-01-01

The William Paterson University Ice Hockey team is proud to announce that the team's National Anthem singer, Susie Mott, will be singing the National Anthem for the New York Rangers.

Susie Mott, a William Paterson University junior, Political Science/Pre-Law major, will be performing the National Anthem prior to Monday's (Jan. 4, 2010) contest between the New York Rangers and Boston Bruins at Madison Square Garden at 7:00 p.m.

"I'm very excited and honored to be singing at Madison Square Garden," said Mott. "I am very grateful to be given this opportunity."

The South Plainfield, New Jersey native has been performing for the Pioneers at the Ice Vault Arena for three years, starting as a freshman.

Mott's upcoming performance will make her the third WPU Ice Hockey organization member to be affiliated with the New York Rangers.

Pioneers Captain Jason Fortino has been involved with the Rangers as a youth camp/clinic instructor, where he has taken to the ice with Rangers' Captain and United States Olympian Chris Drury, forward Sean Avery, and Rangers' legend Adam Graves, among others, to teach young hockey players of all ages.

Also, the Pioneers Director of Public Relations, Alex Iosiovich, has spent the past two seasons with the Rangers as a marketing intern, game night staff member, and currently as a public relations intern.

Tickets to Monday's Rangers' game are still available through the Ticketmaster, and the Rangers website. You can also call the Madison Square Garden box office at 212-465-6040.

Make your way over to the Garden on Monday to support your fellow Pioneer.
