A prospective student-athlete is any student who has started classes for the ninth grade. Recruiting has occurred whenever a member of the William Paterson University Ice Hockey staff, or athletics representative of our program encourages a prospect to enroll at William Paterson and ultimately to compete in athletics. William Paterson University is first and foremost a community of learning. In transforming ourselves over the last several years into a thriving residential university with five colleges and 10,500 students, we have strengthened our commitment to excellence in all areas of academic life. We find that our students are attracted by the University's 35 undergraduate and 19 graduate programs through its five colleges: Arts and Communication, Christos M. Cotsakos College of Business, Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Science and Health. Certification is available in early childhood, elementary, secondary, and special education. Pre-professional programs in dentistry, law, medicine, and veterinary medicine as well as our 370 acre wooded campus just 20 miles outside New York City offering both a diverse and challenging academic programs as well as our growing national reputation for academic excellence. William Paterson University is committed to helping you fund your education. Understanding the many options available for financial assistance can be difficult. We're here to help you. Financial Aid is available through a number of federal and state grant, loan, scholarship, and work-study programs. Both the University and the Alumni Association award competitive scholarships based on academic merit to entering freshmen. The Office of Student Financial Assistance will help you and your parents complete financial assistance application forms, advise you of important deadlines, and locate appropriate financial resources.
