Ian Michaelchuck returns to the staff for his 5th season as the Director of Recruiting. Ian played for the Pioneers for 4 years (2003-2007), serving as an alternate captain in 2006-2007 when the program captured it's first 25 win season. Ian graduated from WPU in 2007 with a degree in Finance and currently works as a sales representative in New York City. Ian coached the Cherry Hill Middle School program to a 14-6-1 record in 2007-2008. He then decided to join the WPU coaching staff as the Director of Recruiting in 2008-2009. Since Ian joined the staff the Pioneers have gone 111-31-4. Ian currently attends WPU to finish his 2nd degree in Management with a minor in professional sales and will be pursuing his MBA come Spring.
In addition to serving as the team's Director of Recruiting, Ian will serve as assistant coach for the Pioneers working with the defensive core as the defensive coach for the 2012-2013 season. Ian took on the role of Assistant Coach in addition to Director of Recruiting in the 2011-2012 season where the Pioneers captured their third consecutive SECHL Championship and had a memorable National run.
